Cultivating Place: The Power of Gardeners is a 10-episode documentary series rooted in Jennifer Jewell’s more than two decades of listening to, learning from, and amplifying the voices of gardeners, culture keepers, and ecological thinkers. Through intimate storytelling and place-based encounters across the country, the series explores the essential role gardeners play in shaping culture, fostering resilience, and nurturing belonging.

Directed by filmmaker Myriam Nicodemus, the series translates Jennifer’s life’s work into cinematic form. Along the way, you may also find occasional field notes and reflections from Myriam, offering glimpses into the filmmaking process and the evolving conversations shaping the series.
